“It is vital for all known forms of life”. For humans specifically, water is essential for various physiological functions, physical performance optimization, radiant skin, and weight maintenance. Because it is unlikely that you’re getting your required daily intake, here are 14 tricks to help you drink more water.
1. Set a daily goal
It is very important to set realistic targets to be able to follow through. Also, make sure you build up your water levels gradually to avoid the body shock.

Aim to drink a certain amount by 9a.m., 11a.m., 1p.m., and so on to make sure you reach your set goal by the end of the day.

If you’re one of those who mind the tastelessness of water, add fruits, veggies, or herbs for a little flavor boost or add ice cubes to make it crispier. For a combo effect, you can freeze little bits of your favorite fruit (ex: grapes, strawberry, etc) and use these as ice cubes for your water.
6. Invest in a good quality reusable water bottle
If you don’t already have one, invest in a good quality reusable water bottle and keep it on you at all times (home, office, uni, car, gym, etc). You are more likely to drink water if it’s in front of you. Always refill your bottle when it’s empty.
7. Drink water as soon as you wake up
Your body has been fasting for the past eight hours of sleep and drinking two or three glasses of water right after you wake up works great to rehydrate your body and revitalize your organs. Water on an empty stomach first thing in the morning boosts your energy and metabolism, increases your alertness, rids your body of toxins, improves skin complexion and hair health, and strengthens your immune system.
