foodies Heaven

Okay people! This one is for those of you who are obsessed with flavorful, rich, spicy, juicy, tender, succulent, crispy, crunchy, sweet, sour and spicy food

I am one of you and that I say out loud and with pride, however, staying fit is not a walk in the park for us all and I mean especially us! So I decided, after too much eating and over dosing on reading, to give you some easy solutions that you can add to your daily meals to help you lose weight and also diminish your cravings.

Chili Peppers & Spices

  • If you are a fan of spicy food, then you’ll be happy to or already know that capsicum which is found in chili pepper with all its different types, its consists of thermo genic properties which help increase your metabolism and fat burning rates.
  • Add chili flakes or peppers to your meals for a nice hot flavor that will melt that sitting fat.
  • The different spices that you have in your cupboard but barely use? Well, it’s time to spice up your game and make your attempt for healthy food a delicious full of flavor one!

Tip: Indian spices could be a great start.

  • Make fruits your ultimate all time snacks!! They’re sweet, tasty, diverse textures and full in everything that your body could possibly needs…. Apples make a great snack midday and between meals plus it’s filled with fibers people. They keep your movement regular.
  • Strawberries, blueberries (A little hard to come by in Egypt), Cantaloupe, Honey dew, Oranges, Pears and Bananas make you the perfect fruit salad snack that you’d like to take with you to work or even munch on while watching a movie or two.
  • For a little bit of crunch you can add honey, skimmed milk and oats to that fruit salad and create the perfect cereal to start your day with. (I’ll get to whole grains next!)
  • Needless to say you can also make juice with your fruits, fresh juice is the perfect thing for the coming hot summer days and also it would help cut down your soda pop cravings! (Yes, I know you soda addict)

Whole Grains & Nuts

  • The moment the word whole grain is thrown at me I think UGH BROWN BLANT TASTING BREAD! Well, there’s a nice hack around that; you can simply eliminate bread, rice and pasta from your diet and take a whole direction. Have you heard oven baked crispy chicken fillets?? Instead of bread crumbs use oats, pop in the oven till golden and VOILA! You are in the heaven of healthy junk food.
  • As mentioned above oats make an excellent breakfast that give you energy. It’s filled with fibers that actually keep you feeling full and hyped for a long time through your day, and you can also make granola bars to take with you to work too! All it takes is honey and oats; indulge in healthy sticky, crunchy sweetness.
  • Nuts, nuts, nuts every nutritionist out there, every diet recommends nuts to be your ultimate munchy, crunchy indulgence for weight loss and weight preserving. Latest discovery, pine nuts that is usually used in eastern cuisine is an amazing nut to have around the house, it’s filled with vitamins and oils that will keep you full and increase your metabolism.

  • Vegetables are very important, and as a foodie I bet you do enjoy and have a favorite veggie here or there. So it’s time to take that love to the next level; zucchini, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, sweet peas, onions, Brussels sprouts drizzled in olive oil, salt and lemon toss it in the oven for 20 minutes and sink in a heaven of crunchy highly nutritional meal.
  • Another idea: You can make sautéed veggies your daily brunch and vary around the veggies to lessen the boredom.

These very simple additions to your daily diet will help increase your metabolism, limit your cravings and keep you healthy, happy and foodie fit!
