“Every woman’s success should be an inspiration to another. We’re strongest when we cheer each other on.

“Have you ever had a moment in life where you just got an awaking and a different view on things? Hello! I am Niveen El-Kilany, an athlete and fitness coach! I’d love to share my story with you in light of women empowerment month, let’s dive in!”

Artistic Gymnast

Nivene Kilany

“I started my journey into the world of sports as an artistic gymnast when I was 5 years old. Gymnastics is a sport that requires strength, flexibility, dedication, and determination. It also requires the ability to be graceful and delicate. I was so proud of myself to be part of the national team at the age of 10, I participated in a lot of championships and received a lot of medals, I’m very proud of what I accomplished, but I was unfortunately forced to quit because of an acute injury in my back. I took a long time in the rehabilitation process to recover both physically and mentally.”

“We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated.”

Practice Makes Progress

Nivene Kilany

“I got back into the fitness world with full power and passion to achieve more and learn further. I started reading a lot and getting to know more about health, fitness training, and nutrition. They say practice makes perfect, I started practicing what I’ve read and experimented on myself, and by the time I gained more experience and knew the difference between traditional strength training and functional training, I also knew the importance of mobility, flexibility and stretches, to avoid injuries, maintain my diet routine and improve my performance. “

Growth and Gratitude

Nivene Kilany

“I trained CrossFit for two years and half but I was forced to stop because it affected my back injury, that never stopped my craving and passion to sports, I participated in a lot of marathons, I practice a lot of water sports, hiking, horse-riding, and of course going to the gym, as part of my everyday life. I’m proud of who I am right now, and who I will become in the future, I have no roof when it comes to sports.

I want to say a massive thank you to CairoGyms for sharing my story, I’m grateful for all the people who supported me on this journey, my coaches who have enabled me to achieve my dreams. Sports have taught me many valuable lessons that I will carry through for the rest of my life. To many more achievements ….”
