The Ultra Relay Run 2026: 24 Hours of Endurance for a Cause
A legendary running tradition returned with a new challenge as The Ultra Relay Run 2026 brought runners together at the American University in Cairo (AUC) track in New Cairo.
Inspired by the iconic 24-hour relay runs held at Cairo American College during the 1980s and 1990s, the event revived the spirit of endurance, teamwork, and community while supporting an important cause.
The run was held in support of the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation and its new Global Heart Centre, bringing an even greater purpose to every lap.
Two Challenges, One Mission
The event featured two relay formats designed to test teamwork and endurance.
2-Hour Relay Run
A fast-paced team challenge where runners worked together to complete their relay effort, combining speed, strategy, and determination.
24-Hour Ultra Relay Run
The ultimate endurance challenge kept the track moving from 6:00 PM on Friday until 6:00 PM on Saturday.
Teams took turns running through the evening, overnight, and into the following day, demonstrating the power of collective effort.
Running for Heart Health
Beyond the physical challenge, The Ultra Relay Run carried a meaningful message.
By supporting the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation and its new Global Heart Centre, the event connected the running community with a mission dedicated to improving heart care.
Every lap represented more than distance. It was an opportunity to contribute to a cause that makes a difference.
